Planet Wise Solutions partners with Indigenous communities to co-create technologies that protect forests, purify water, and empower women. Together, we’re proving that sustainable innovation begins—not in a lab—but in the heart of the community.
Read MorePlanet Wise Solutions is more than a nonprofit—it’s a collaboration between engineers, community leaders, and families working toward a shared goal: healthier homes, stronger economies, and a livable planet.
Our work begins where need meets potential. In remote regions of southern Mexico, women still cook over open fires, children carry water for hours, and forests are stripped for fuel. We don’t arrive with pre-packaged answers. We arrive with open ears and technical skill, helping transform local knowledge into practical solutions that last.
Our clean cookstove, La Mazateca, was designed hand-in-hand with Indigenous women who know exactly what a kitchen needs to function. It cuts wood use by 75%, eliminates smoke from homes, and can be repaired with locally available materials. The same co-design approach has led to durable rainwater systems, bio-sand filters, and composting latrines—all engineered for longevity, simplicity, and local ownership.
The impact goes beyond technology. Families breathe cleaner air. Forests recover. Women gain income as trained builders and leaders. Communities earn self-reliance and pride.
For us, sustainability isn’t a slogan—it’s a system of trust, knowledge, and respect. Because when people build their own solutions, they also build their future.
